1. Introduction

Axtiran Group ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Medicanator mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the App you agree to the practices described here.

Medicanator helps you manage medication schedules, track refills, monitor treatment cycles, and forecast when your stock will run low. Because the App involves health-related information, we take your privacy especially seriously. Medicanator is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. Always follow the guidance of a qualified healthcare professional.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account information — email address and display name when you create an account.
  • Medication data — medication names, dosages, frequencies, schedules, and instructions you enter manually.
  • Treatment cycles — cycle start and end dates, dosage patterns, and pause periods you configure.
  • Refill & stock data — pill counts, refill dates, and pharmacy notes you record.
  • Adherence history — logs of doses marked as taken, skipped, or missed.
  • Usage data — feature interactions and session events, collected anonymously to improve the App.
  • Device & technical data — device model, OS version, app version, and crash logs for stability purposes.
  • Push notification token — if you grant permission, to deliver medication reminders.

All medication and health data you enter is provided voluntarily by you. We do not receive this information from pharmacies, insurers, or healthcare providers.

We do not collect payment information. In-app purchases are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Create and manage your account.
  • Deliver medication reminders and refill alerts at the times you set.
  • Calculate stock forecasts based on your recorded pill counts and dosage schedules.
  • Display your adherence history and treatment cycle progress.
  • Analyze anonymized, aggregated usage to improve App features.
  • Diagnose crashes and fix technical issues.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your health data to serve advertisements.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal or health information. We share data only in the following circumstances:

  • Cloud infrastructure — your account and medication data are stored on secure cloud servers (e.g. Google Firebase / Firestore) with encryption at rest and in transit.
  • Analytics — anonymized usage events may be shared with analytics tools to understand feature adoption. No medication data is included.
  • Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users.

5. Health Data & Sensitive Information

Medication and treatment data is sensitive. We treat it with the highest level of care: it is encrypted at rest, never used for advertising, never sold, and never shared with third parties except as described in Section 4. We are not a HIPAA-covered entity; however, we voluntarily apply equivalent security and confidentiality principles.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account and medication data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data is removed from our active systems within 30 days. Anonymized aggregated statistics may be retained indefinitely as they cannot identify you.

7. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
  • Object to or restrict certain types of processing.
  • Data portability — receive a copy of your data in a structured format.
  • Withdraw consent (e.g. disable push notifications in device settings).

California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know, delete, and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

8. Children's Privacy

Medicanator is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us at medicanator@axtiran.group and we will delete it promptly.

9. Security

We use encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, strict access controls, and regular security reviews. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. International Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your country of residence. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses to protect your data.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
